About us.
The knowledgable and dedicated folks at Kingsborough Motorsports Inc. are the team you need to turn your open-wheel dreams into reality! As racers ourselves, we have been through the feeling of not being sure if the dream can be achieved. The feeling of wanting desperately to drive a race car, in an actual race scenario, but not knowing where to start, who to talk to or how to prepare. If this sounds familiar, you may be in the right place.

We offer a complete curriculum and the cars, through an arrive-and-drive operation. Our cars are run in the Ontario F1200 series, running with VARAC and with CASC on the Regional race weekends. They are 1.2 Liters of fun, in a series where driver talent makes the difference. The cars are the perfect tool to learn the dynamics of mechanical grip, momentum racing, and aerodynamic drafting. They are reliable, relatively forgiving, inexpensive to operate and safe. Think of them as the link between go-karts and high performance single seaters.

Whether it's a test day, a one-off race weekend, or a season long championship battle, we can offer any fit for your racing needs.
In addition to providing racing thrills, we have partnered with Hanson International Advanced Driving School and Advanced driving coach, Paul Subject. These resources provide a roadmap of driving skills through coaching, seat time and observation that is sure to increase your enjoyment, whether it be just to learn, or to find those precious few last tenths.

Get to Know The Cars
BRD Chassis
The BRD FV1200 is a race car with winning potential.
The ‘upright’ seating position & narrow body work allow for better driver visibility and steering comfort without compromising the aerodynamics of the car.

The double roll over hoop not only offers excellent driver protection but also allows the fitting of a 6 ft plus 190 – 220 lb driver. A double adjustable shock compliments the compact “zero roll” rear suspension and allows the track compression and rebound tuning. Ease of accessibility for maintenance and service completes the package making the BRD FV1200 the right choice.

Equipment
Here is the equipment you will need. We have linked the product pages from our Partner

HANS
A HANS is a safety device for motorsports, standing for Head and Neck Support. It is a restraint system worn by drivers to prevent serious head and neck injuries by limiting the forward motion of the head during a crash. The device consists of a collar worn on the shoulders that connects to the helmet via tethers, transferring impact forces to the much stronger shoulders.

HELMET
An SA or FIA helmet is a racing helmet that has been certified by a specific safety organization to meet the rigorous standards required for motorsports. The Snell SA (Special Application) standard, common in North America, is for competitive automotive racing and includes tests for impact, flame resistance, and peripheral vision. The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) standard, used internationally, sets a global benchmark with several tiers, such as the 8859-2015/2024 and the highest-level 8860-2018/2018ABP for top-tier series like Formula 1.

RACING SUIT
Racing suit rules for single-seater cars require fire-retardant suits with specific FIA or SFI safety certifications, which must be worn with a full complement of fireproof innerwear and accessories. The exact standard (e.g., FIA 8856-2018 or SFI 3.2A/5) is determined by the specific sanctioning body and event you are participating in.

RESTRAINTS
Single-seater racing arm restraints are a crucial safety device designed to keep a driver's arms inside the cockpit during a crash, spin, or rollover. This prevents severe injuries, such as broken bones or amputation, that can occur if a driver's limbs extend outside the protective structure of the vehicle and strike the ground, a barrier, or another car.
